decluttering

Any of you fine local people wear a size 11 women's shoe? Are you interested in shoe hand-me-downs?

I have shoes in my closet that I bought because I liked their looks or they were cheap or ... who knows, really, and I've never worn them even once. If I wore 8.5 I know at least a half-dozen people I could offer them to but 11 is a little harder to come by. I will note that I do not have particularly girly shoe tastes. There are no heels in my closet of any variety.

Edited to add: heck, if you wear a women's 12, 14, or 16 and are interested in hand-me-down clothes this would also be a good place to chime in. But you've all seen how I dress, and my clothes are about what you'd expect. (Which is to say: I was frumpy even at 16 and I am still frumpy.) Which is true for my shoes, as well. A lot of them seem to say "Land's End" on the soles.

Hon, if I lived closer to you, I'd say let's talk, but I think I live at least 600 miles away....

Yes, and I'm not going to offer to bring them to Wiscon -- I want to get them out of the house NOW while I'm thinking about it!

I wear 9 1/2 or 10. If any of them run a little small, will you see if H has room for them til my next visit? She would know my tastes, too.

If they would fit a size 10 foot I wouldn't have bought them in the first place, or would have left them out for the donations truck years ago. Size 10 shoes really do not fit me AT ALL. Even a size ten that "runs large" generally doesn't fit me comfortably.

So unless you're one of those people who has a size 11 foot but likes to pretend she wears a smaller size because it seems more ladylike I don't think any of these shoes will be of much use to you. And I hesitate to actually try any of them on to assess for whether they run small because I might start talking myself into keeping them and I am pretty sure that of the five pairs of shoes here I have worn exactly one pair one time.

Although, you know, I just thought of a SINGLE exception. I found a pair of wellies at Target in a ten that ran large and they fit me fine.

I was totally shocked. I'd figured I would have to pay $50 and buy them mail order if I was ever going to get a pair of rubber boots. Those aren't in the donate pile, though; I wear them every spring.

Paying $50 and getting shoes by mail order is a bad thing?!? (i'm more or less unable to find shoes in my size anywhere other than the internet, and if I can find ones for $50 I'm getting away with something.)

Do you still have shoes to get rid of?

I'm interested in the size 11 shoes, if they haven't gone already.
