ZOMBIES
I realized a few weeks ago that if, when reading the newspaper (or your blog roll or whatever), you mentally replace all mentions of the economy with the word "zombies," it makes for much more entertaining reading.

Also, swap in "the zombie apocalypse" for "the economic crisis."

Alas, when you say things to friends like, "It's a really lousy time to be looking for a job, what with the zombies," they look at you like you're insane.

I am never going to be able to stop doing this.
Ever.
And it's your fault.

I'm so going to try this. My job would just laugh.

How about a round at Wiscon? (are you going?)

How does this work if you're reading an article about zombie banks?

Are toxic assets only toxic to the living, or are some of them toxic to the living dead as well?

I suppose adding "... in bed" to the end would be too much?

Pity.

I find this idea AWESOME.

'Present Obama signed into law today a number of zombie relief programs to assist the United States in the zombie apocalypse'.

That is gold.

I actually laughed aloud when I first read this, and then I saw today's NYT editorial by Nicholas Kristof:

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/02/opinion/02kristof.html?_r=1

Japan’s prime minister, Taro Aso, drew on the lessons of Japan’s “lost decade” to scold Germany in an interview with The Financial Times for its dithering about a[n economic] stimulus. When a Japanese prime minister scolds you for passivity, you know you’re practically a zombie.

Not only do I get my news from a newspaper, I subscribe to the paper and get home delivery.

I wish more people would, because my paper (the Minneapolis/St. Paul Star Tribune) was better back before half the staff got EATEN BY THE ZOMBIES. Sigh.

And feel free to link!

Considering that zombies (zombie banks) are a part of the problem this makes perfect sense to do. It is a zombie apocalypse.
