It's a good day
Happy birthday, [info]notthatedburke and [info]probably_lost!

For your birthday, I got you a Democratic Congress!

I also ordered you a Democratic Senate to go with it but that might take a few extra days. (Next time I'll spring for the next-day air, dangit.)

(Edited to add: make that weeks. Gahhhhhhh. Maybe that can be your Christmas present.)

Maybe they substituted it with a Rumsfeld Resignation for your immediate customer satisfaction?

Oh! That's UNDOUBTEDLY it! And, honestly, it's not like I'm going to send the Rumsfeld resignation back and demand a refund, you know? It's not what I ordered but it's definitely something I think they'll like. :g:

Gosh, Auntie Naomi, can you get me a cool birthday present? I can start with a signing of the Kyoto treaty and work my way up (or across or down or whatever) to any number of other issues!

Well, when's your birthday? If the U.S. signs the Kyoto treaty the day before your birthday, I'd be happy to slap a bow on it and tell you it's your present. ;-)

Dang. You never get *me* presents that cool. :D

And don't forget - a Democratic state house and senate! I will *so* take our near supermajority there over a Hatch win.

Oh, me too.

Depending on how the recount goes, maybe the Democratic Senate can be your birthday present! Because you're right, why should Ed get all the cool stuff?

So kind of you!

You didn't even mention that you threw in, free of charge, an end to over a decade of Republican governors in Massachusetts. And NEW HAMPSHIRE now has two Democratic representatives (that's all of them) and Democratic majorities in both houses of the legislature. That is a day I never particularly thought I'd see...

Oh, I think that was Michelle's birthday present to you. ;-)

I see the Democratic Senate has arrived with an invoice marked "paid in full." So, thanks!

Oh, excellent. I'd heard a rumor it might get here today but was trying not to get my hopes up until it actually turned up.
